Grateful Gathering: Foraging for Natural Inks & Medicine

Come gather a fall harvest together in the Blue Heron Nature Preserve. Learn methods for grateful gathering and ways of working in reciprocity with the site you're collaborating with. Then, take a walk through the Preserve to identify native plants and gather handfuls for collective ink-making.
 
We'll make inks together from the plants we gather and enjoy lunch while they're steeping.
Participants will leave with inks we've made from our walk and recipes for making more fall harvest inks at home. 

About the Educators:
Bird Harris is an artist and history educator who engages with site-specific materials to explore the throughlines between history and environmental crises.
Maria Soto is an Atlanta native with experience in foraging, environmental engineering, and urban farming.

The Participant Fee for this event is sliding scale $30 / $60 / $90 which allows us to cover direct costs, including instructor fees and materials provided.
